Weekly Schedule: The class information below shows the days that cover each of the seven areas within a full week, each day having one 60-minute period of Qurʾānic Arabic, which includes 15 minutes of prayer circle.
Grading System A student's grade consists of two major categories, formative assessments (60% of final grade) and summative assessments (40% of final grade). Formative assessments are employed throughout the learning process. These include:
- Weekly memorization assessments - Weekly handwriting assignments - Weekly linguistics assignments - Daily silent reading logs - Daily classroom performance (participation, citizenship, etc.)- Tajwīd assignments Summative assessments are a summary of a student's development at a particular point in time. These include: - Tafsīr tests - Linguistics tests - Tajwīd tests - Quizzes
Please note that a student's culminating projects and portfolios are included as summative assessments.
Memorization Group Students will be tested on suratul-Fatiha, and the Qur'an folders will be sent home this week. Please view the letter attached to this folder. Students are divided into the following groups:
